北方工业大学面向英国华威大学制造学院（WMG）、奥斯特大学等院校的研究生课程入学，开展了“海外硕士预科项目”。本项目旨在提高大学生英语的听、说、读、写水平，培养管理类英语应用能力，学习和研究公司管理、项目策划、财务、市场营销、文化行为内容，提高学术写作能力。本项目中华威模块的2门课程由英国华威大学WMG学院教师承担，其它的课程将由北方工业大学教师承担。
本硕士预科项目得到华威大学WMG学院认可，为期1学年，通过预科学习，各门课程合格后，学生可获得北方工业大学培训中心颁发的结业证书，会被华威大学WMG学院硕士专业优先录取（英语需达到雅思6.5以上，小分在6.0以上）。此外，本项目结业的学生也可以被奥斯特大学优先录取。
